So Far, So Good!

Howdy All,
Well here we are going on a week of taking my GLOW PILLS (I started last Thurs. )
Everything is going well, I’ve been able go to work, in fact I’ve been working 9hr. days to help offset my Dr. Appointments. (I go in next Wed.)

So far the only side affects I’ve noticed has been a slight metallic taste.
Still got all my hair and haven’t turned YELLOW yet, guess you’ll have to wait a while to call me Old Yeller.

Thanks for all yer LOVE and support; we’ll keep you up dated.

IF YA GET NEAR I’LL PULL YER EAR, IF YA START FEELIN SORRY FER ME I’LL DUST YER BRITCHES!

From the kids...

Dear Family & Friends,

If you are visiting this website, you are well aware of the battle our family is about to begin. We feel very fortunate to have such a massive support system that creating this blog is necessary. There are so many people who love our dad that if we were to call everyone who cares for him in order to keep them updated we would be on the phone 24/7.

The family grapevine is a powerful thing, but we’ve all played a game of “telephone” or two in our lives, and we understand how easily a phrase like “Send reinforcements, we’re going to advance.” becomes  “Send three and four pence, we’re going to a dance.”

As we gather our armor we just ask that you take a few “Please do’s” and “Please Dont's" into consideration—just a few guidelines, if you will, which we believe will help us win the battle.

Please Do: Post messages to Dad often to let him know you are thinking of him—every single note will be printed and hand delivered to him.
Please Don't: Post specific messages on Facebook, My Space, Twitter, etc. regarding our dad’s condition.  We want to be sure that nobody is caught by surprise by news they have not received through the proper channels.
Please Do:  Send wishes of encouragement, inspiring thoughts, and share a positive attitude. Humor is a necessity, and ass kicking is permitted as well as encouraged if it becomes necessary.
Please Don't:  Send wishes of sympathy and “I’m sorry’s”… This request comes straight from Dad. Nothing helps more than pulling from the strength and courage of our loved ones!
Please Do: Help us to keep our parents from killing each other… if you have a free afternoon, go to lunch or a movie with our mom—anything to get her out of the house!
Please Don't:  Think for a second that this blog has replaced the telephone.  We would love to hear from you!
Thank you for being part of our army.  The love and support we feel from each and every one of you will help us to make it through every step of this process.

We’re in this to win!  Our dad is too damned ornery to let a trivial little thing like cancer take him down, and since he raised all of us to be just as ornery, the odds are definitely stacked in our favor.

With Love,
Leona, Sami, Sandi, Mindy, & Lloyd
